Start the journey again in earnest
A Metaphor
Crack open the crust,
See the Truth that is
Hidden under the thick husk
Of comfort and forgetting.
Do not think it is bad luck
To fall and bruise your shin,
Learn to pick yourself up
Start the journey once again.
It is not all as quaint as it might seem,
Languid pools of pleasant dreams,
Some days you must break through the seams
Of this numb world, and see Reality.
