Stumble on, ego
And fall into distraction,
Be as anyone.
Worry about you,
What you may say, what you do,
How you might matter.
Lest you remember
The light of your spirit is
Alone immortal.
The ego struggles
To gain its total control,
But the lower soul
Finally must yield
And take its more rightful place
As spirit’s servant.
