Can you sit in my chair?

Can you sit in my chair,
See the world as I see,
Not the stranger out there,
Be someone more like me?

Can you look through my lens,
Find the things that I found,
Reach the goals I intend,
And find the middle ground.

Can you walk in my way,
Hear the words that I hear,
Spend the hours in my day,
Fear the things that I fear?

Can you not become me,
To any great degree?
In time, you comprehend
What my life might yet be.
