Look
further
in,
do not
let the fear
hold you;
it will pass,
an open veil
enfolds you,
within this place
your heart finds its rest.
Do not dismiss
this incarnation,
it matters more than you
might yet understand;
a common malady
touches all women and men;
a great forgetfulness
steals our hidden joy away.
We must never settle, content,
creation recklessly spent
to the point of our destruction,
or gather artifacts and trinkets
that, in the end, shall turn to rust.
Yet, we trust this dust to live again,
its possession still all that ever is.
Our hearts and mouths were rightly fashioned
to take in grace and then to speak it clear,
far richer bread and still finer gifts than this
await the ones who draw the cradle near.
