Look Further In
Seeing through the open veil
Syllabic 30 Poem — Write Under the Moon

Look
further
in,
do not
let your fear
hold you.
It will pass,
an open veil
now shows you;
beyond this place
your heart finds its rest.
Do not forget
your incarnation
matters far more than you
might yet understand.
A common malady
touches all women and men;
a great forgetfulness
steals our hidden joys away.
We vacillate in vagaries,
lost in a million glances,
through places and things never meant
to capture our peace and energy.
Somehow, we must have forgotten,
mere travellers in this foreign space,
that we have settled in far too deeply.
Our hearts and mouths were fashioned
to take in grace, and then to speak it clear,
and far richer bread and finer wines than this
await us, who learn to treasure and share.

I write to communicate, and connect, and hopefully spread compassion. We all need encouragement these days, especially the “least” among us.
Your support is a great help to me, making it possible for me to continue writing and extend beyond the poems into future music efforts.
Thank you to all who take the time to read and connect.
