A Cinquain Series — Write Under the Moon

“No greed,
No enemy,
No murderous intent,
No lust for personal power,
No king!” -
We sing,
We shall stand firm,
And refuse to be moved
By these unfamiliar faces,
Intent
On peace
We bend, yet strong
As ancient oaks withstand,
Resolute against oppressive,
Dark winds!
Indeed,
Lift our voices,
Hold the banners higher,
Dance in freedom lovers’ desire,
And warn:
“No kings,
No tyranny,
No military coup,
No Constitutional crisis,
No mute!”
It ends,
Right here and now,
In these hallowed spaces
Where we gather, speak together
As one.
And demand to be heard.

Such great words for such a confusing chaotic time. I’m glad you wrote them. It inspires me to continue and to never change.
