Sojourners Return
The trek back to no home
Soon enough the dawn will rise, and strike these bloodied eyesand we will walk again; all foreigners, sojourners through forsaken lands.
The immigration has now reversed itself. They are now going back.
I’m sure many are celebrating this, but I would like to share another perspective.
These families came through dangerous jungles and deserts. They faced death, disease, and intense struggle for one reason—the hope for a better life, free from the constant fear and oppression of their native countries.
The U. S. was that hope. Now, it is more oppressive and hopeless than the places they had left, and they have nowhere to rest, nowhere to reside, nowhere to call home.
So they return the way that they came, facing the same death, disease, and struggles.
The image above depicts the distances and topography they traveled to become our “greatest threat.”
Leviticus 19:33–34
When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you must not oppress him. / You must treat the foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Once again, you have nailed it…this is deep and contemplative…bravo…
How we mourn the loss of our once compassionate nation and pray to God that we will live to see its return.
