Stop War
A child‘s poem
A child‘s poem

Sometimes it’s just best to stop and look at the world as my 10-year-old grandson would, and write plainly and clearly about what I see. No fancy words, just simple, raw honesty that you get from children if you take the time to talk with them.
Humor me for a minute, and be a child with me, and see what we can say.
STOP WAR
Stop war. It’s simple: just stop!
Stop stealing, Stop hurting, Stop breaking what is not yours.
Stop shooting, Stop killing, Stop bombing out our school doors.
We don’t want this anymore.
The bullies cannot have their way. The liars cannot have their say.
Could we be any clearer?
Do you see what you are doing? What is the reason for the delay?!
If you do not stop, we will just stop you!
So some of us can see a new tomorrow.
The other children, in this schoolyard, must now get our way! Today!
(Are we there yet?!?)
Thank you for taking the time to read! I deeply appreciate your support.
