Comfortably filtered and silent

Do I live in a bubble,
Somehow protected
From the pain of existence,
Hidden away
In my cocoon,
No need to awake.
There is still no trouble
I cannot escape,
With the slightest of effort,
No debt to pay,
Nothing to fear,
So little at stake.
Life in this bubble
So secure,
Life in this bubble,
Safely sure,
And simpleLife in this bubble
Soft and clear,
Life in this bubble,
Comfortably filtered,
And silent

I search through the gravel
My detectors on,
Looking for treasure,
Lost on the way,
Near the lagoons
Where the camps lay.
The noise of the rabble,
The gates of the prison,
Immigrant workers
With nothing to say,
Forced to pass through,
Disappear away.
Life in this bubble
So secure,
Life in this bubble,
Safely sure,
And simpleLife in this bubble
Soft and clear,
Life in this bubble,
Comfortably filtered,
And silent
