The Monster Reigns
All the heroic men and women have gone
Syllabic Poem :
The
monster
reigns,
is now
two-headed.
The first,
loud and vile,
boldly blusters.
The second
as slippery
as serpent skin.
No one will speak
among the leaders,
engaging interests
hidden, untold.
As millions, so weak,
now must struggle and suffer;
death will take its dark toll,
sure as the coming nightfall.
Who will make an issue with them,
who withstand their brutish force,
Who can challenge this craven course
refuse to reach soulless appeasement,
How long shall they slither and roar?
Are we no longer fit to be free,
unable to stand, to face destiny?
Their statues stand firm and resolute,
forefathers witness their angry salutes!
Where have the heroic men and women gone?
Run to your shelters when you see them come!
(RESIST ! We will answer for erasing our national legacy by succumbing to fear.)
