The New Peace
Justice will come as a flash in the night
The events of the last few days are without precedent in my lifetime of 73 years.
I watched as an ICU nurse was teargassed and gunned down, murdered in the streets of Minneapolis for attempting to protect a woman protester being thrown down by ICE agents.
I watched as our government vilified him as a criminal terrorist and justified his murder.
Then I learned that the Civil Rights Division of our same federal government was once again forgoing an investigation into the matter.
What else will it take to convince us that we are in the hands of a rogue, terrorist federal government intent on absolute power and oppression?
Please comment below. I’m listening. But I know what I see.

Where are the new beginnings
that form the re-creation,
when will chaos yield
again to peace?
Where is the meaning
that mollifies the end,
when will new birth steel
against death’s reach?
I trusted and I’m waiting,
I long for its approach,
I watch as evil still
is not breached.
What shall we find,
what answers lead to hope,
what must we learn to do,
what lessons teach?
Who is even listening,
who cares enough to look,
who calls the payment due,
who ends the misery?
If you know, please tell me,
if I were to take the bet,
I would guess it lies with me
to act, to resurrect.
I tell you, I am willing
to take the cross upon me,
not leave it on the backs
of those who are the least.
There is no more delaying,
no time left to repent,
the day is overdue,
our patience overspent.
Bring on the dragon-slaying,
their well-earned recompense,
the noise and chaos silence,
lies of failing “Supermen.”
Life is meant for living,
not flirting with our death,
the loss of our innocence
is not easily regained.
The wicked soon will answer
for the evil they have made,
for counterfeiter’s gold
not a crown, unduly claimed.
I ask for God‘s intervention and what part I must play in it.
“From now on, I will tell you of new things,
of hidden things unknown to you.
They are created now, and not long ago;
you have not heard of them before today.
So you cannot say, ‘Yes, I knew of them.’
You have neither heard nor understood;
from of old your ears have not been open.”
Isaiah 48- 6–8 NIV

Family: ‘heartbroken but also very angry’
Pretti’s family released a statement Saturday evening saying they are “heartbroken but also very angry” and calling him a kindhearted soul who wanted to make a difference in the world through his work as a nurse.
“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed,” the statement said.
“Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.”

When the power comes back on in my home in Kyiv, I read your words and see the tragedy unfolding. This tragedy calls on us to stand up to tyrants, just as Ukraine is doing now. We must remove murderous tyrants from our lives, so we cannot afford to wait or delay, even if it is difficult. I want to be clear: this is not about aggression, but about moving from words to action. For a long time, America lived in the comfort of democracy, believing it was safe from such threats.
What can you do? What can anyone do? I'm so worried. Trying to maintain high vibrations of love and peace.
