What would you say,
If I told you
I believe the truth
Within your heart;
You are not so very far
What would you say,
If I hold you
With such deep respect,
Knowing you have yet
To see your inner heart
What would you say,
If I asked you to try
To look beyond the ancient lie
That you were less than me,
Or anyone at all
What would you say,
If I see your genius,
Mine is the clearer view,
When you thought you knew
You were so small
What would you say,
There is no low nor high,
No cogent reason why
Some are sorely tried,
While others are blessed
What would you say,
If love has come to knock,
And asks to enter in,
Would you begin to learn
You deserve nothing less
What would you say?

I write to communicate, and connect, and hopefully spread compassion. My sense is that we all need encouragement these days.
Thank you to all who take the time to read and connect.
Some of you donate to my work as paid subscribers ($5/month or $30/year) and I sincerely appreciate your support. This is a great help to me, and makes it possible for me to keep writing and to extend beyond the poems into future music efforts.
