You Are Me
I am you.

You are me,
I am you;
This is nothing more
Than simple truth.
When I turn,
And walk away,
With so little
time to spend,
Then, I lose
This part of me,
That sees the world
As you do.
And this loss
Diminishes me,
Just as much
As it wounds you.
When you suffer,
I feel your pain,
Cries you utter
Tell me again
What it means
To be fragile,
Broken,
Human.
How can it be
It stays so hidden,
And few see
The certainty
That we are one,
Though many,
I am you, and
You are me.

I write to communicate, and connect, and hopefully spread compassion. I sense that we all need encouragement these days, especially the “least” among us.
Some of you donate to my work as paid subscribers ($5/month or $30/year) and I sincerely appreciate your support. This is a great help to me, making it possible for me to continue writing and extend beyond the poems into future music efforts.
Thank you to all who take the time to read and connect.

You Are Me… is truer than most people suspect. Each day as time passes and we traverse the space we’ve been given.. we cannot escape those we find along the way. Each one is another facet of ourselves. To stop and take time with each person along the way is like giving root to a seed within ourselves. “You Are Me” and I Am You.
How touching... Thank you!
